Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction on VH1 Classic, March 12

Some of the inductors have been announced for the 2007 class of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Jay-Z will induct Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, while Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder will induct R.E.M. and Keith Richards will roll in the Ronettes. Patti Smith will be inducted by Rage Against The Machine vocalist Zach de la Rocha, who just recently came out of hiding to reunite with his RATM bandmates. Viva la Rocha!

Velvet Revolver (who are prepared to release their second LP, Libertad, produced by Brendand O'Brien) will introduce Van Halen, if the latter even shows up. Being as combustible as Van Halen is, Velvet Revolver will be performing in their place. If Eddie Van Halen could channel all his frothy, foamy rage, I believe you could power a small city for weeks.

The ceremony will be broadcast live for the first time on VH1 Classic on March 12.

Van Halen Reunion Tour Nixed

Van Halen

The previously confirmed Van Halen reunion tour will not be happening, according to Pollstar. Looks like that little punk Wolfgang Van Halen won't be filling Michael Anthony's shoes this time around.
